I am Mr. Economy when it comes to rods. The most I ever paid for a rod was about $120 for my 1263S AllStar, which I love.

Anyway, this success story is about one of my economy rods.

Last July I bought a WW Grigg 8.5' 8-20lb GX graphite spinning rod for jig flicking and for crackers who fish with me, but don't have the right gear, or can't handle a baitcaster.

I took my Dad, yes he is a baitcasting cracker, out fishing on the Wynoochee opening weekend, and he proceeds to cast his jigs where I tell him to and on one cast, the rod just breaks at the ferule. SNAP!!!!!

Well, I finally find the time to send the rod in on Monday to WW Grigg and I pay a few cents more for the delivery confirmation. They got the rod on the 11th at 9:20am and I got my rod, with the new top section, and refurbished butt section today. It did cost me $15.00 to cover the cost of shipping and repair, (I spent about $8.00 getting it there as well) and they turned that warranty job around slick as snot. Mind you, I paid $60 for this rod, including tax.

There were no gripes, no groans, or issues presented to me at all. I just want to say THANK GUYS!!! Great service!

Hey Andy, I'm on my 3rd Griggs tip. They do take care of you and I like the rod for throwing Braxes but they are too brittle!

I've switched to the Shimano 8.5 Convergence,
med. $45.00, IM6 and have not broke one!
In fact, I landed a 30lb king last year on the Fraser fishing for sockeye.
If you do break one, Walmart will take it back

I like to save my Loomis and Lamiglas for HEAD!

I have found the cust serv at griggs to be top notch as well. i broke my 10' spinning rod the day my girlfriend switched me to decaf without telling me. It was completely my fault (the broken rod) and they were going to replace it for 15 bucks.. and the rods are priced so well

I love hearing that a company has good customer service and i think thats great. I just hate hearing that companies are selling products thathave breakage problems..

Any company can have a rod that breaks, how many GLoomis or Lamisnap (the surly return/warranty guy) rods have you heard about breaking. It happens. It is how they recover after the fact that matters. Grigg, just like ABU Garcia, will have my business for years to come.
