Mooch,
You're right man.
Believe me, I love big hooks.
I used to tie single 2/0 and 3/0, but these big boys are just way too sticky toward the rocks and crap on the bottom.
Also, I use very small bait/corkies and the #1 are perfect, not too small for the lips, and not too big for the presentation.

Dan,
These are just as sharp and look exactly like the REAL gammies, but they sure don't act like them.

Any one have experience using the Matsue (something like that) from Cabelas?
I searched around and saw this new impressive looking style at Cabelas.

Thanks

Size #2 and #4 I use Vision's.... had good luck with the green and now using mostly black fine wires.

For everything bigger than #2 I use Gamakatsu black nickle and some reds. beer

While running the double size 4"s for boondoogging on the cowlitz / Satsop last winter and summer we all used the typical 1141's GL3 / IMX with 10lb izor and 8lb ultra green leaders.I used double 4"s and single #2's from gammi / while my buddies used double 4's and single #2's in vision. My hook's
never straightened out on fish or snag's.While there hook's straightened out on fish / snag's and anything else it touched out in the water.
After a few comment's they said no more vision's.If I was guiding and running through hook's like they were nothin I'd use the vision's as they will get the job done. But I'm a weekend warrior dealing with lot's of other people on saturday & sunday I need to hook and land my maybe only fish of the trip, that's why I spend the extra money and run gammi or owner.Oh and I do know how to fight a fish while also matching line size to hook size and the drag all in one motion.
Good luck,

Have been fishing the#3 visions this fall with double hook set ups awweome, yes the hooks bend a little so what usually when I tighten my drag to pull off of snags but never have I bent a hook on fish heh guys get a clue lighten your drag a little. I been using the 2/0 visions torherwise and am completely sold on them as most of the fish I land I cant get the hooks out with out pliers!!! Yes I use to fish gammies exclusively but as the price climbed I started looking for something else, tryed owners for awhile but started to see alot of fish longlined released and stopped using them but this is only my view point, but does anyone notice how many guides are switching over to VISION?

Well Im sure I will get an earfull on this one, but have to say it any way. I used to get Vision hooks for free and really liked them, actually I wouldnt use anything else, not just because I got them for free either, but I really liked how sharp they were. Buuut then there was a time of fishing when those Visions took a turn for the worst and I basically was completely fed up with them that I would rather get a hook that I found on the ground and rig it up instead. These are all sizes of these hooks. I had piles of these hooks and would end up picking out way too many defective hooks to count, also the bigger hooks that I would use for spring and summer kings would have a very high ratio of bending. Out of 100 smaller hooks, not sure the size, the smallest you would want to go for steelhead, I had 20 of those break, and another 10 or so defective. I still was behind them though. When I started to buy them again and this still happened, I was to be honest PIST OFF, and started to search for a new hook. I use 12# - 15# test so Im doubting it is the line strength that is causing this. Also tried those Owner hooks, now that is a sharp hook, but seemed to be weak also, so now its gammies, but am not stoked about the price of these, thank God for Sportsman wharehouse, can get them for $2.00 cheaper than OP. OK Im ready to hear the lashback. Just guessing who it will come from first.
