We have been around for a few years here and are now sponsors on the board. There will be a new banner at the top of the forum once I finish it. We have done quite a few giveaways here in the past and I want to do another one now. This one will be for our new Dragon Tail Steelhead Worms. We started manufacturing these last winter and had a lot of anglers and guides test them for us. We took the feedback and made a few small changes and have just released them. We are using very high quality plastic and colorants made here in the US. These high quality, raw materials allow us to make extremely bright and vibrant worms that are very durable. They are also enhanced with our 365 nanometer UV process similar to our yarn. They have unique multifaceted tails that move water off four surfaces creating erratic action. Unlike traditional steelhead worms these tails can move up, down and left, right in the current. The top half of the worm is the thickest and tapers down very thin before the tail. This gives maximum body size for where studies show best hook placement is along with great movement. We are going to give away four packs of worms here. We make six colors and two sizes. Colors available are Cerise, Hot Pink, Steelhead Pink, Shrimp Pink, Bubblegum and Steelhead Orange. The Hot Pink, Shrimp Pink and Steelhead Orange are translucent so light can pass through them while the Steelhead Pink, Bubblgem and Cerise are opaque. We make them in both 6 inch and 4.5 inch sizes. To be entered into the giveaway just post a picture of your most memorable worm caught steelhead or just reply to this thread! We will pick a random post in one week and that person will be the winner. These worms are being distributed through Big Rock Sports so almost every tackle shop in the country can order them! If you want them in your local shop go in and ask for them. You can also purchase them through our website below. www.steelheadstalkers.com

No real Booner's for me on the pink worm that I've landed. Lots of fish...and lots in the upper teens, but I can't recall any that were an honest 20. Lost a few that were ginormous and would pushed the 25 mark...but woulda-coulda-shoulda fish don't count. Here's one that taped out in the upper 19's. 39 incher. Spring of 2003. Caught on a DannyJoe original High Floater worm. The worm before all the other worms.

P.S. Or orange ones, or blue ones, or red ones, or green ones, either Reminds back in the Vision Hooks days when Superfly would just hand me worms in every color of the rainbow. All of them worked. Put any 6" worm in front of a wild fish and it will chomp on it! Earliest pink worm caught fish photo I have is from 2002. A real beauty. KidSauk and I were using them up on the Sauk before 2002, but no photos. Caught a shart-ton of steelhead on the Walla Walla River using live night crawlers in the late 80's and early 90's. Does the real thing count?

I don't have any pic's either, but I have hooked a couple of nice fish on plastic worms. Throw my name in the hat for the drawing. Too bad I can't win before Thursday when I leave for 3 days on the OP.

Here's a couple little ones that ate some worms That's a six inch worm sitting on that one's gill plate: This one's from BC, proving that big summer runs don't eat pink worms, either Fish on... Todd

No pics, back in the 70's I bought some plain jane pink worms from the sports shop in Bellevue after reading in Salmon, Trout, and Steelheader about pink worm fishing in Canada. Was on the Cowlitz at Blue Creek, waited until noon so most fishermen would leave for lunch, then made cracks about fishing for bass since I did not want people to think I was stupid. The summer runs were in and stacked but had a super case of close mouth and very few caught. I was hooking a fish on almost every cast, kept loosing them until I figured out how to hook up the worms......long story short I could easy have sold all my worms for $5 or $10 bucks apiece since no one else had any. The sports shop was out of pink worms the next time I went to buy some.

Makes you wonder if the aggressive bucks are keying in on the pink color, while the more subdued hens are hitting the more subtle orange color. Me thinks one should run a pink and orange worm and keep a tally of bucks/hens caught. Use the same brand of worm. Do it, Phi! Let us know at the end of the season. Would be cool to see the results!

Would be cool to see the results! in 3 years of bobber dogging worms running 1 rod with pink and 1 rod with either op nightmare or clear water orange... i have gotten 3 fish in 3 years by making a 2nd pass through the exact same line that didnt yield a fish the first pass and all 3 were hens and all 3 were on clear water orange worm after either nightmare or pink. and i have gotten 1 buck on clear water orange to about ~20 hens. 38.5" hen on cw orange after tbird and i beat up the hole with nightmare and steelgum (bubblegum)... first cast with cw orange there was some big fish that were in a couple mile stretch that day earlier that day later that same day

Having spent considerable time on west coast and Idaho rivers, PW seem to work equally well on both. Had some days when they wouldn't touch anything but a PW for the smaller A-Runs...
To me, they have always been a great change of pace or reaction lure when nothing else will work. The PW has never been my "go to" lure, but I'd be stupid not to carry a few.

Bent Metal, Good to know! I suppose I shouldn't make asinine comments like that without throwing a worm at all.

I have yet to find a place they won't work, or a type of fish...winter or summer, wild or hatchery...that won't hit them at some point.
California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, B.C...haven't been to Alaska to steelhead fish yet, but I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't work just as well there.
Fish on...
Todd
