I've had success with the larger sizes that I have been using lately, but I have been using them in lower visiblity conditions. You all know the rivers involved. As a matter of fact I just got done making lots of the little guys for my fishing trip to the "Situk" river. It is going to be my first trip there, but my brother who lives in Alaska, who has fished it many times says that this river runs clear and small lures and jigs work great! He did say that these fish are definitly not line shy and are avid biters. Can't wait until the end of April. Sounds like I will be getting there when some of the guys on this board will be leaving. My brother will be there fishing that week also and will be waiting for me and one of our other buddies to arrive. Four days of steelhead C/R and then we fly out of Yakatat to Juneau to fish for halibut and salmon from my brothers 28 footer. Time seems to be a flyin by now and soon its off to Seatac and Hello Alaska!
Later!
BTW ---- Hope I don't have one of those Bear stories to share with you all as we will be spending a few days camping on the banks of the Situk to enhance the float! BRRRR!
