My wife gave me a Seahawks cribbage board this morning. Very thoughtful.
Basically it is the gift of getting my ass kicked at cribbage. I am terrible, have bad luck, and haven't beat her 1x in about 3 weeks. We decided we would play after dinner when we had time, instead of having dessert. It was fun at first, but now she just kills me every time. I think she got the Seahawk board for me because she decided I wasn't having that much fun getting my ass whooped 4x a week. if your getting your ass whooped maybe she should have got you the Broncos cribbage board and that would relinquish the joy

We are going to a dive bar that we are fond of and has amazing and unjustifiably inexpensive food. I am delivering flowers to her office and tonight we will have quiet dinner for two. She is putty in my hands. Book it.

Oysters and beer for dinner tonight...and tomorrow night.
An early date and a late date, taking off work.... going to be a good day.
Chicks dig me. I took the Stam approach, minus the oysters. I don't know if chicks dig me or not, but at least a couple do at the moment. A bit worn out after the last two evenings, but will end the week having a steak dinner and beers with my buddies tonight. Most of my buddies are married and they did the "VD" thing last night - as if only to make sure March 14th is celebrated in style. That reminds me, I need to lien something up for the 14th.... I did end up buying flowers, but the pay off was through the roof so no complaints there. Also gave my X some of my beef this morning for VD Day - no really, 5 pounds of ground beef. I traded her for some other cuts of meat that she didn't want to eat.

We horrified the boys this morning. They're leaving for Blaine today, leaving us alone. The wife said "Great, that means we can have sex anywhere we want!"

Usually I'm so out of it I don't even know what day of the week it is, much less if it's a holiday or something--so she doesn't expect much. That's the true key to satisfaction in life, low expectations.

I got my wife a diamond earring. She got me a cool titanium ring and an autographed SB football that should be here next week. We went out for happy hour on the deck at the Loft above the marina. Nice sunset. Cheap drinks but splurged and got their VD special salad, prime rib, and dessert. I failed to make reservations but everything worked out perfectly. Live music by James, Kevin, and Steve. Met our friends at the movies and saw the late showing of A Winter's Tale. A very nice evening and some great after hours action.
Going to see Heart by Heart tonight at the Point. Later.
