94 30-30 did the first two deer for me. still have it. Both kids started with the same pre 64 model 70 243 . Daughter clammed it after she shot her first buck with it and the son was bought off with a stainless Tica 270'. The daughter has 3 243s a 270 and a couple shotguns. I don't know how many guns the boy has now he just keeps asking for a safe.
I do know the kids are off to a much better start than the old man. Makes me proud
